Writer's Report: 2013 Recap & Year-End Releases

I've recently been bitten by the non-fiction bug. Just this past December, I published the first two articles in a series called Writer's Toolbox. The aim of Writer's Toolbox is to help speculative fiction writers hone their craft.

Article Description: World Integration tackles the tricky task of incorporating worldbuilding details into a science fiction or fantasy novel. This can present an interesting dilemma for genre writers. How can information on a fictional world be delivered to readers in a way that is natural to the story line? How can important details be shared without bogging down readers in pages and pages of boring exposition?

This is where World Integration will help. Writers will learn valuable techniques for weaving worldbuilding into a genre story, as well as the pros and cons of each technique. All methods are accompanied with examples from published works. This article is for all science-fiction and fantasy writers looking to improve and enhance worldbuilding in their novels.
You can grab World Integration for $1.49 on Amazon. If you're an Amazon Prime member, you can borrow it for free.
Article Description: Award-winning and Amazon-bestselling speculative fiction author Camille Picott has been self-publishing since 2008. Over the years, she has garnered much knowledge on the world of indie publishing. This article sheds insight on important aspects of indie publishing—aspects that might not be readily apparent to those just starting. Also included are cost-saving tips that will help authors publish professional products on a budget. If you’re looking for a leg up in the indie publishing world, Indie Publishing Essentials is for you!

2013 has been a busy publishing year for me. Along with the two Writer's Toolbox article, I also released 3 new books this year: The illustrated ebook version of Raggedy Chan, The Warrior & The Flower (my first adult novel), and Risk Alleviator, the next installment in the Sulan series. I also produced an audio version of The Warrior & The Flower. The Warrior & The Flower and Sulan both spent many months on various Amazon bestseller lists. All in all, I could not have asked for a better publishing year.

I hope all my writer friends also had a great year! Looking forward to 2014!
