When signing up to be a part of my book tour, Cassandra of Book & Movie Dimension asked me if I would do a video interview for her blog. I immediately agreed to do it, even though I've never done one before and didn't even know how to use the iMovie software at the time. :) I am always up for a challenge!
Public speaking is something that does not come easily for me. I tend to suffer from dear-in-the-headlight-syndrome. That is, my brain freezes up and I forget everything I want to say. I also think that public speaking can be very important if you're an author, so I've been working on it over the past 3 years. I have a pretty incredible coach -- my Mom.
My mother has been public speaking since she was a kid. Her father used to take her to political forums and have her go up on stage to speak for him. Needless to say, my mom is pretty darn brilliant in front of an audience. With her dedicated and compassionate coaching, I've really improved and feel so much more comfortable in front of an audience.
Not only is Mom my public speaking coach, but she's also pretty computer savvy. She figured out how to use iMovie and put together the final cut of this video for me.
So here it is -- the official premiere of my first video interview!
Do I have an awesome mom or what?
