In the month of September, I'll be embarking on my first blog tour. (Thanks to those among my blog buddies who have already agreed to participate!) I'm pretty excited. Since I enjoy reading book blogs so much, and all that goes along with them -- giveaways, guests posts, interviews, etc. -- I figured this would be a great way to promote my new book.
I've done live promotions before, namely book signings, and let me tell you, they are TERRIFYING. There is a whole lot of sitting around in bookstores and feeling awkward. People won't make eye contact with you because they don't want to be trapped, or they don't think they want what you have to sell. Granted, each signing I've done has gotten less and less terrifying . . . I've even gone so far as to enjoy them. But it took me a while to get there. I'm hoping the blog tour will be less terrifying my first time out. After all, I get to hide behind a computer screen! One of my favorite places to be!
Planning and assiting me in the tour will be Teddy Rose of Premier Virtual Author Book Tour. I'm very excited to work with Teddy. She makes all the arrangements for the tour, including scheduling reviews and arranging interviews, guest posts, and giveaways. Hiring her frees up my valuable time to focus on writing -- which is what a writer should be doing, right?
I'll be posting a blog tour schedule toward the end of August.
